HomeAid-Owned Housing

An expansion of our unique model, these housing projects are not only constructed through HomeAid, they are also owned and maintained by HomeAid Orange County. Meanwhile, our nonprofit partners provide the human services for the people that call the housing projects their homes.

Years ago our Board of Directors had an idea— why not own a HomeAid-built housing project? Our leadership recognized that the crisis of homelessness was evolving, especially for families, and in order for HomeAid to continue to be a vital force in creating safe and dignified housing, our work needed to expand. Enter, our HomeAid Family CareCenter.

We opened the doors of our HomeAid Family CareCenter in 2017. The low-barrier emergency shelter for families experiencing homelessness is unlike all other HomeAid housing projects that came before it. HomeAid constructed the facility, owns the building, maintains the property, and supports the operations of the shelter through both our Essentials and Cares Programs while our nonprofit partner Mercy House Living Centers operates the shelter.

It All Started With a Vision

HomeAid-Owned Housing Projects Under Construction

FX Residences

FX Residences will be a permanent supportive housing project, home to 16 adults that are chronically experiencing homelessness while living with a diagnosed physical or mental disability. This project is located in Santa Ana and will be operated by our partner Mercy House Living Centers.

In collaboration with the City of Santa Ana, this project will help to chip away at the 2,700 units that are needed for this extremely vulnerable population.  The project is being led by our Builder Captain, City Ventures, and our architect, Bassenian Lagoni Architects.

La Veta Village

La Veta Village will be a multigenerational affordable housing community for families and seniors, comprised of three historic homes with an accessory dwelling unit added to the rear of each property.

In collaboration with the City of Orange, La Veta Village will provide affordable housing options for families and seniors that qualify as low-income. This project is being led by our Builder Captains Landsea Homes and The New Home Company, as well as our architect, Architects Orange.
