Long time HomeAid Supporter John Laing Homes has stepped up as Builder Captain for HomeAid’s newest shelter development, Hope Family Housing-Buena Park, a $2.3 million dollar development. As part of that commitment John Laing Homes has dedicated Joe Blumenkrantz to serve as superintendent / project manager for the development. As of this writing, Blumenkrantz has already conducted numerous team meetings including meetings with the City of Buena Park and consultants in preparation for DDA meetings, public hearings, City Council meetings and Planning Commission meetings. Additionally, Blumenkrantz has been successful in recruiting a predevelopment team including; architect, Bassenian/Lagoni Architects; landscape architect, Borthwick Guy Bettenhausen, Inc.; civil engineer, Bender and Associates; mechanical engineer, TAD Engineering, Inc.; soils engineer, LGC Geotechnical Companies, Inc.; structural engineer, Wright Engineers and dry utilities, RGI.
Newport Beach-based, Bassenian/Lagoni Architects provided the design for this development, a one-acre property that will ultimately provide a manager’s apartment and 16 units of long-term transitional housing for homeless families, many of whom will transition from low-income motels.
When completed, the facility operations will be managed by the Orange County Rescue Mission whose success rate is ten times the national average, with 85% of their program graduates becoming self-sufficient productive members of society.
