Warm, safe homes for young children and families is a priority for the Children and Families Commission of Orange County. This is why the Commission has decided to partner for the third consecutive year as the presenting sponsor for HomeAid Orange County's Project Playhouse 2005. HomeAid is the Building Industry Association's charitable outreach that builds and renovates shelters for Orange County's homeless men, women and children, and has to date completed 37 shelter developments.

"There are over 35,000 homeless people in Orange County and the fastest growing homeless population is families with children," said Julie Poulson, chair of the Children and Families Commission of Orange County. "A safe home is a critical element of a healthy learning environment. By building shelters and transitional housing for children and their parents, HomeAid has had a positive impact on making children healthy and ready to learn when they enter school. The Commission is pleased to be the presenting sponsor and part of this worthwhile effort to provide housing to those who need it," added Poulson.

HomeAid's Project Playhouse will be on display at Fashion Island in Newport Beach from September 17-October 22, 2005. For information call (949) 553-9510 or visit www.projectplayhouse.org
