NEWPORT BEACH, CA (December 14, 2006) -- The Orange County Association of REALTORS® (OCAR) recently presented HomeAid Orange County with a check for $30,000.  The donation was presented at the organization’s annual installation luncheon held at the Irvine Marriott where 300 plus attendees were on hand to celebrate the association and its accomplishments.

OCAR has been instrumental in providing support to HomeAid - a contribution that has directly benefited seven of the 40 shelter developments completed by HomeAid Orange County, the charitable arm of the Building Industry Association. As of this date, OCAR has donated $143,000 to aid the thousands of homeless men, women and children residing in affluent Orange County.

OCAR’s contributions are generated primarily from its annual events including a golf tournament in May; bowling tournament in October; and most recently a beach party held at Doheny State Beach where approximately 2,000 guests - comprised primarily of OCAR members and associates - were in attendance.

HomeAid Orange County is extremely grateful to the Orange County Association of REALTORS® for its on-going support.  With continued participation from organizations like OCAR, HomeAid is able to provide shelter for over 6,000 homeless families and individuals that – in any given year - find refuge in HomeAid shelter developments located throughout Orange County.
