Glen Black director of custom and infrastructure applications for Experian Corporation recently received the Spirit of Volunteerism Award for his outstanding service as a key volunteer with HomeAid Orange County, the Building Industry Association's charitable outreach that builds shelters for the transitionally homeless.
For 30 years the Spirit of Volunteerism Awards, presented by the Volunteer Center Orange County and the Orange County Register, has been providing a noncompetitive recognition platform for the county's most deserving men and women from area nonprofit organizations and businesses.
Black has been a vital contributor to HomeAid's signature fundraiser, Project Playhouse for six consecutive years, most recently as the event's co-chair - that last year under his leadership - broke all records by raising over $560,000 for HomeAid's shelter development program.
HomeAid Orange County congratulates Glen Black for having received this very deserving Spirit of Volunteerism Award. As the result of the level of commitment made by individuals like Glen Black, HomeAid has to date been successful in completing 40 shelter developments throughout the county.
