Michael Schlesinger named President of HomeAid
Orange County Board of Directors

NEWPORT BEACH, CA (February 6, 2004)

Michael Schlesinger, Land Group vice president for Newport Beach-based Lennar Partners has been name board president for HomeAid Orange County, the charitable outreach for the Building Industry Association. HomeAid builds and renovates shelters for a variety of homeless populations residing in Orange County.
HomeAid Orange County, the charitable outreach for the Building Industry Association of Southern California charged with the mission of building and renovating shelters for the temporarily homeless, announces the naming of new board president, Michael Schlesinger, Land Group vice president for Newport Beach-based, Lennar Partners.

Having served in the building and development industry for almost 30 years, Schlesinger – a licensed architect and real estate broker – comes from a diverse background including acquisition, finance, planning, entitlement, construction and property management, and has been involved with several major developments throughout the United States.

In addition to his affiliation with HomeAid Orange County, Schlesinger is involved with the Urban Land Institute, the Newport Harbor Educational Foundation and the Waldorf School of Orange County.

In his role as board president, Schlesinger will provide leadership for 22 board members as HomeAid Orange County moves forward with the development of six current shelter projects in various stages of planning and construction throughout Orange County.

To date, HomeAid has developed 34 shelter projects making it the largest provider of shelters in the county. Those temporarily homeless served by HomeAid include women in crisis pregnancy; abused children; victims of domestic violence; homeless adults living with HIV/AIDS; the mentally challenged; and those families and individuals who find themselves homeless as a result of job loss or catastrophic illness.
