Daniel Nassie attorney with Doss and Page Lawyers was first introduced to HomeAid Orange County through the Orange County Association of Realtors when he presented the innovative idea of climbing Mt. Everest to raise money for the Building Industry Association's charitable arm and Orange based-Second Harvest Food Bank.

Now in full swing Nassie's brain-child, Mt. Everest 2004 – climbing the mountain for hunger and homelessness – is kicking off its fundraiser on February 18 at the Irvine Sports Club from 5:30 - 7:00 p.m. where realtors, building industry members and the community will be invited to join in the celebration by pledging support. Pledges can be donated at a flat rate or at the rate of $.01 per foot for maximum feet of 29,035, i.e. $290. If preferred, companies and individuals may take advantage of marketing opportunities available through various sponsorships and underwriting levels.

The pledges and sponsorships garnered through the partnership effort of the Orange County Association of REALTORS, HomeAid Orange County and the Second Harvest Food Bank will underwrite various programs that feed the hungry and house those living in cardboard boxes and in seedy motels throughout the county.

Those interested in making the climb may contact Daniel Nassie (949) 752-5370 or visit www.mteverest2004.com. All monies go to the two charities, each climber is responsible for his or her own expenses.
