Established by the leadership of the Orange County Chapter of the Building Industry Association of Southern California in 1989, HomeAid Orange County has completed 39 shelter projects to date. The temporarily homeless served by HomeAid include women in crisis pregnancy; women and their children who are domestic violence victims; the mentally challenged; adults living with HIV/AIDS; homeless youths; and those who find themselves homeless as a result of job loss or catastrophic illness.
There are nearly 35,000 men, women and children in Orange County who each year do not have a permanent nighttime address. HomeAid’s Project Playhouse event garners an essential part of the funds needed to support the nonprofit’s shelter projects that will provide housing for these individuals and families in need.
The proceeds garnered from all of the HomeAid Project Playhouse auctions and the other related Project Playhouse events will benefit homeless men, women and children who otherwise might be living out of their cars or on the streets.
