HomeAid Orange County's Rainbow of Hope Ball Garners Rave Reviews and Banner Profits
NEWPORT BEACH, CALIF (June 19, 2006)
HomeAid Orange County recently honored the building industry and its associates for their contributions in support of Orange County's homeless men, women and children. Attended by 400 distinguished building industry and community notables, the eighth annual Rainbow of Hope Ball chaired by Michelle Pate, of Keystone Pacific Property Management, and Sonia Lister of Jackson, DeMarco, Tidus & Peckenpaugh garnered proceeds topping out at over $211,000; $51,000 more than last year's total! Event earnings are slated to benefit HomeAid Orange County's shelter development program, now in its 17th year as the Building Industry Association of Southern California's charitable outreach.
The event hosted by HomeAid Orange County board president, Richard Hunsaker, retired president of Hunsaker & Associates included a live auction led by Chuck Dreyer of K. Hovnanian Homes, with entertainment in support of the "Night at the Copa" 40's & 50's supper club theme, provided by the Los Angeles-based Platinum Groove Band.
The evening kicked off with The Rainbow of Hope 2006 Awards presented to: Joe Oltmans Senior of Oltmans Construction who received the Rainbow of Hope Builder Award; Lee Rogaliner of Bassenian/Lagoni who garnered outstanding Volunteer; and Jim Palmer of the OC Partnership/Orange County Rescue Mission who was presented with the Rainbow of Hope Care Provider Award.
The Orange County Association of REALTORS® received the Rainbow of Hope Corporate Partner Award accepted by Linda Lang; Brandow & Johnston and Hall& Foreman, Inc. were honored with the Rainbow of Hope Consultant Awards accepted by Gregg Brandow and Gerard Nieblas; and John Hogan respectively. The Rainbow of Hope Sub-Contractor Awards went to both TWR Framing; accepted by Tom Rhodes, and Nicholas Lane Contractors, Inc. accepted by Scott Shaddix.
HomeAid Orange County, the founding chapter of HomeAid America, was established by the leadership of the Orange County Chapter of the Building Industry Association of Southern California in 1989. Charged with the mission of building and renovating shelters for homeless Orange County men, women and children, HomeAid serves women in crisis pregnancy; abused children; victims of domestic violence; homeless adults living with HIV/AIDS; the mentally challenge; homeless youth; and those families and individuals who find themselves homeless as a result of job loss or catastrophic illness. To date, HomeAid has completed 40 shelter developments with three in various stages of planning and construction.
