NEWPORT BEACH, CALIF (November 8, 2005)
HomeAid Orange County, the Building Industry Association's nonprofit that builds homeless shelters added a touch of glam to their much-anticipated Project Playhouse Auction Party held at Fashion Island in Newport Beach.
A spectacular African-inspired foyer provided the gateway to an enchanted Jungle Safari complete with gorillas, lions, and elephants authenticated by the talents of brightly clad ethnic dancers whose tribal gyrations rocked the room as the audience waited in anticipation for the live auction and celebrity guests.
HomeAid supporter, baseball great Angels' heavy hitter Garrett Anderson made his HomeAid debut along with soap opera actress stunning Nadia Bjorlin (Chloe on "Days of our Lives") who - much to the delight of enthusiastic fans - offered boyfriend, James Stevenson (UPN's Sex, Love & Secrets star) up for bid. Immediately following, the audience sprang to their feet when Stevenson retaliated by putting Nadia on the block. Together the auctioned celebs brought in nearly $12,000 of the $525,000 raised to aid the homeless. Dates are scheduled later this month.
