Casitas de Lyon, built by William Lyon Homes with architect, Lind & Associates Architecture garnered the Craftsman Award for best builder. Interior design provided by Creative Design Consultants, LLC with landscaping donated by Frank Radmacher & Associates. William Lyon is one of the HomeAid Project Playhouse builders for 2005 - the event takes place at Fashion Island from September 17 - October 22, 2005.

Casitas de Lyon was one of 11 playhouses auctioned off as part of HomeAid Orange County's Project Playhouse 2004, the organization's signature fundraiser that earned $415,000 in proceeds. HomeAid is the charitable arm of the Building Industry Association charged with the mission of building and renovating shelters for the temporarily homeless.


IRVINE, CALIF. (April 6, 2005) HomeAid a non-profit organization that builds and renovates temporary residences for thousands of Southern California homeless families is actively seeking playhouse builders for its 14th annual Project Playhouse fundraiser. Project Playhouse 2005, to be held from September17 through October 22 at Fashion Island in Newport Beach, is expected to draw over three million visitors throughout the duration of the event beginning with the Opportunity Prize installation on August 24th.

Participating builders can expect to receive extensive media coverage; prominent signage; event advertising; prestigious award opportunities; a special VIP party honoring contributors; and the knowledge that their involvement will help raise funds to build shelters that will ultimately house the disadvantaged.

Established by the leadership of the Orange County Chapter of the Building Industry Association of Southern California in 1989, HomeAid Orange County has completed 37 shelter projects. The temporarily homeless served by HomeAid include women in crisis pregnancy; women and their children who are domestic violence victims; the mentally challenged; adults living with HIV/AIDS; homeless youths; and those who find themselves homeless as a result of job loss or catastrophic illness.

There are nearly 35,000 men, women and children in Orange County who do not have a permanent nighttime address, HomeAid is dedicated to helping these homeless families and individuals get back on their feet by providing temporary housing. HomeAid's Project Playhouse event garners an essential part of the funds needed to support the shelter projects currently slated for construction.

HomeAid will accept the first 12 confirmed applicants. Entry forms must be received by April 18, 2005.
