Volunteer With Us

Any time of year, YOU can volunteer! Support our HomeAid Family CareCenter: an emergency shelter for families.

Our HomeAid Family CareCenter is the first of our housing developments that we made the decision to own. It’s a home and safe haven for families experiencing homelessness. There are a variety of ways you can support the families and our Family CareCenter.

Interested? Email volunteer@homeaidoc.org for information on volunteer opportunities.

You Can Get Involved In Person, At Home, or Online

At Home

HomeKits are small to medium sized move-in care packages for the families who move on from our Family CareCenter to their next, more permanent housing option.

What should HomeKits include? Think things you need when you first move into a new place! Silverware, cups, plates, bowls, paper products, small blankets, kitchen and bath towels, batteries, drapes, laundry detergent and dryer sheets, etc. all put in a basket or storage bin.

Donate the items for HomeKits online here, through our AmazonSmile Charity list.

Toiletry Kits are just what you would expect: toiletry travel bags filled with travel sized shampoos, conditioners, body soaps, hand sanitizers, toothbrushes and toothpaste.

Once you’ve made either of the above, email volunter@homeaidoc.org to coordinate drop-off.

In Person

We welcome volunteers to do the following, while wearing masks, at our Family CareCenter:

1. Dinner service nightly from 6-7 PM. Volunteers are welcome to bring a craft or activity to do with the children as well. *this opportunity open to 7 or less volunteers*

2. Community CareDay which includes a deep clean of the space and making sack lunches for the families *this opportunity open to 10 people or less*

Email volunteer@homeaidoc.org to sign-up.
